California Christmas 2008

by Caroline, Scarf Queen on December 26, 2008

These photos are from a week ago when Peter and I were in Newport Beach, California. We have been traveling there every year for many years in a row, and we love it there.  This is in the hotel where we stay, and this was just one of the Christmas trees in their lobby.  Many of our videos have been shot there and we had plans to shoot a few on this trip, but unfortunately Peter caught a stomach bug prior to the trip (and worse, I think he caught it from me during our trip to New York the week before) and we sadly shot nothing.  We did however get to enjoy some nice, quiet time together without working.

These pics were taken on our way out to our annual holiday dinner and I truly love how this scarf looks.  It is a fairly rare Paloma Picasso silk, which is 36″ x 36″ and is a terrific heavy twill.  Peter says he loves me in these sorts of bright and vibrant colors.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday yourself and I will try getting more photos added to the neckscarf and headscarf sections added soon since I have TONS in the pipeline.

Meeting Magic

by Caroline, Scarf Queen on December 14, 2008

I know it is a bit out of place to post a non-scarf photo on this blog, but it was an unexpected pleasure I wasn’t prepared for.  The reason I oddly wasn’t wearing is that I intended to try on all sorts of clothes at the mall, and I hope even you scarf lovers will appreciate that a scarf gets kind of cumbersome for such things.

Peter and I arrived in California yesterday and he dropped me off at a mall in Costa Mesa because he wasn’t feeling very well. As I wandered into a Barnes & Noble I noticed some hub-bub toward the back and went to see what it was. Much to my surprise, it was Magic Johnson who was there for a signing of his new book. I quickly picked up two copies of the book and a basketball at a neighboring store and got myself in line.

All I can say (after having met an amazing number of celebrities in my life) is that Magic is one of the most accommodating and kind persons you could meet anywhere in world. Yes..there are others, like Vice President-elect Joe Biden who I met earlier in the year in Iowa (and whose photo I would also post here if Peter hadn’t totally screwed up). Anyway, Magic signed a book for Peter and me and I got Peter the signed basketball for Christmas, even though he always insists he doesn’t want anything but me.

It’s Time Square

by Caroline, Scarf Queen on December 11, 2008

This a picture Peter took of me in Times Square after we left the Letterman Show.  Peter wanted my coat off to show the scarf and you can see I’m freezing.  I’m clinging to my nice, hot tea from Starbucks to keep my hands warm.  We often stay at a very nice hotel in Times Square, which we like very much EXCEPT for the fact that it’s in Times Square.  It’s just SO busy there with tourists swarming all over the place.  Peter used to live here and we’re in town about 50 days a year and New Yorkers try to avoid this neighborhood at all cost.

I also thought my friends here at MyScarfGirl might also like to see the photo of the Hermes scarf laid out on the bed too.  Peter likes this one very much and had a brand-new, red silk nightgown waiting for me to wear to bed to compliment the scarf.  It was a very nice night of lovemaking after we got back….

Going to the Letterman Show

by Caroline, Scarf Queen on December 9, 2008

Peter and I were lucky enough to score tickets to see the taping of “Late Night with David Letterman” last night and the show we saw will be aired on Friday, December 12th….SO MAKE SURE TO TUNE IN AND WATCH FOR ME!!  We had pretty nice seats about 10 rows back from the stage on the band’s side.  The camera only panned the audience a couple of times, but I was wearing my hot-pink winter gloves and I tried waving to the camera every time.  The feautured guest was Meryl Streep (who was REALLY sick and we wondered why she even made it to the show).  The other guest was Jeff Altman (a comedian of some sort who I’d never heard of, but Dave seemed to like) but he was funny.

This photo is of me holding our tickets under the marquee, and I am wearing my Hermes Memoire de Hermes scarf that some of you might remember from our extremely popular video, “Held For Ransom”.  I’m sorry I’m not showing more if it, but it was REALLY cold in New York City last night and I was freezing my patootie off, but at least my neck was nice and warm.

Peter took a few other shots of me here and in Times Square and I’ll post those in the neckscarf forum soon.

Cowgirl 2

by Caroline, Scarf Queen on December 8, 2008

I was editing this set of photos today and thought it was cute and wanted to share it with you.  It is from a video we shot at the Braat Ranch in Virginia this summer and it brought back some fond memories because it was actually HOT on this day.  Peter and I are currently in New York City (and going to the David Letterman show tonight….I’ll get pictures for you) and it is FREEZING here today.  I’m missing warmer weather.

I’ve worn this particular neckscarf in numerous video and photo shoots and I’ve also used it to punish Peter’s privates with it too.

Is anyone interested in me making it the next of my personal scarves for auction??  Drop me a note if you’d like to buy it and maybe we can skip the auction.  Actually, the first person who would like it for $20 which will include shipping gets it.  Good luck and write me at caroline_and_peter@hotmail.com if you’d like this scarf for your own personal collection.
